9 Father’s Day Gifts & Experiences Dad Will Love

Updated: Aug 29, 2021

At Precious Poppets, we jump at every chance to celebrate parents. Because, well, parents do it all, right? We cook, clean, work, play, plan, listen, learn and love. We do all the things all the time. And it can be a pretty tough gig!

So when a special day dedicated to parents rolls around, we want to make the most of it. Father’s Day is no different it’s time to celebrate the dad in your life.

We’re saving your partner in crime (the one in the trenches with you at bedtime) or your own Dad/father figure yet another 3-pack of socks with 9 gift ideas he’ll absolutely love. You have no excuse this year!

1. Make Dad a gourmet dinner with This Little Pig Went to Market meal kit

Is Dad a big ol’ foodie? Stupid question! We all love a delicious meal. Before you start stressing out about what to cook and how you’re going to do the secret ingredient run, make it easier on yourself with This Little Pig Went to Market. They deliver simple, good-for-you meal kits that are “bloody delicious.” You can skip the shops and order online. You’ll not only impress Dad with a fancy meal but you’ll support local business while you’re at it!

2. Buy Dad a personalised mug from Pottery for the Planet

Is dad a coffee or tea drinker? There’s nothing like your own special mug! We absolutely love these colourful ceramic mugs from Pottery For The Planet. You can choose from a travel cup for his morning commute or a special mug just for home. Think mugs are a boring present? These bad boys are anything but generic. Each piece is handmade and decorated with beautiful washes of colours. Dad will be the envy at work, that’s for sure!

3. Take Dad out for an epic meal at Coogee Common

It’s been a hard year but in Perth, we’re lucky to only have experienced a short-lived lockdown. And with restaurants now open, taking Dad out for a great meal is an option. One of our favourite dining experiences? Coogee Common. If you’ve been to Bread in Common in Freo, you’ll know why we’re super excited about this place! Situated in a restored, historic building in Coogee and serving divine meals using local ingredients, Coogee Common is one for the hit list. Maybe save it for a “leave the kids with the grandparents” Father’s Day treat.

4. Make Dad a #cooldad with a PE Nation sweater

We were going to avoid clothes buutttttt we couldn't resist. They just make damn good gifts, especially if Dad hates clothes shopping. If you’re wanting to go a little extra special this year, we’re loving PE Nation’s new unisex range. An awesome hoodie or jacket will transform Dad’s look from #dag to #supercooldad. You can buy these on the website or grab them at one of these boutiques around Perth.

5. Book a barefoot luxury escape at the incredible Samphire Rottnest

We may not be able to travel interstate or overseas but we can sure travel in WA. And if there’s been one silver lining to 2021, it’s that we’ve come to appreciate our own sunny state. If you haven't been to Rottnest Island for a while, maybe spring is the time to go! Especially when there’s the incredible Samphire Rottnest. Situated on Thompson Bay and described as “barefoot beachfront luxury”, Samphire Rottnest is the ultimate island getaway. If there’s any year Dad deserves luxury, it’s this year. Oh, and the bonus? You get to go too!

6. Challenge Dad to an epic game of mini golf at Goanna Golf in Point Walter

We all know dad’s can be competitive. So why not try to beat him at his own game with an Australiana-Themed 18-hole adventure game of mini golf.

Located in the picturesque riverside location of Point Walter is Goanna Golf, Dad gets to show off his great skills (whilst you let him win) and the whole family can enjoy quality time together.

7. Take Dad on a romantic staycation

Whilst we still can’t travel overseas, we are lucky to live in such a vast and beautiful part of the world. However right on Perth’s doorstep is Amaroo Retreat. You will think you’ve travelled 3 hours south, but this adult only retreat comes with stunning views, outdoor spa, it’s very own lounge bar and all the couples spa treatments you could ever dream of!

8. Pretend you’ve travelled to Italy at Ischia

Pizza, Pasta, Bread and Olive Oil. Can we all say YUM! Ischia is a family run restaurant in the heart of Highgate dishing up all things authentic Italian grub. Recently taking out The Winner of best Pizza Restaurant in Perth 2021. Enjoy a low-key but ever so delicious dinner to celebrate! This one the kids can come to too 😊

9. Give the wine-o dad just what he wants

Dad love his wines? (We know we all do). Spoil Dad (well, both of you really) with a Vinmofo 6 pack of wines. Pick wines you know he’ll love (and some you can enjoy together once the kids are asleep).

Wishing you and yours a fun and loving Father’s Day!
